Estate planning at PoM is not “cookie cutter.”  There is no “one size fits all” here.

We offer three levels of planning to suit your varying needs, and you get to choose the level of planning that best fits your family.

From starter plans designed primarily for families with young children and not yet much in the way of financial wealth, to more robust plans for well-established families concerned with matters of asset protection, preservation and increased growth, we will design a plan that is tailor-made to fit you and your family.

Personalized Service and Fees

Our pricing for your planning centers on affordability and effectiveness.

As you can imagine, we get the question “How much does an estate plan cost?” quite frequently.

Because estate planning is so family and fact specific, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to quote a standard fee. However, depending on what you and your family needs, our fees range from around $2,000 for those not worried about keeping family out of court, up to $8,000 for an extensive plan that provides significant asset protection, credit shelters after death, and maximum protection for your assets from inadvertent loss to the state department of unclaimed property or the court process.

If a lawyer can tell you exactly what your plan would cost via email or over the phone without a comprehensive discovery process to understand your family and assets situation, I would run quickly away from that lawyer.

Because you see, this is exactly why most estate plans fail.

Families shop around based on price (because they don’t know any other way to shop for an estate plan) and they end up with a traditional plan, which is a set of documents that do not actually work when the family needs them.

If you would like to read more about this, please read my article here on "How shopping around for an estate plan could leave your family with an unexpected, expensive, unintended mess"

If you are looking for the cheapest planning you can find, you may as well read up and DIY (do it yourself), because you will get the same quality of planning online as you will with any lawyer who is charging fees less than what we offer here.

We start the planning process with your personal PoM Planning Session, which is a meeting designed to get you more financially organized than you have ever been before.

Even if you never do any planning with us, the preparation for your PoM Planning Session alone is a hugely valuable process for you and your family because you will create a full inventory of your assets and ensure your family knows exactly what you have and where it is located.

Then when we meet in person (or we can meet via Zoom or other video conference) we will review everything you own and discuss everyone you love, and you will understand exactly what would happen to everything you own and everyone you love in the event of your death or incapacity.

If you do not have a plan, we will cover the plan that the government has for you.

If you do have an existing plan, we will review your current plan with you. (We call this an Estate Plan Check and Review).

If you are not happy with the plan the government has for you, or your existing plan, you will tell us what you would want to change and we will look at the most effective, efficient and affordable way to achieve your goals. Plus, we will help ensure that no matter what happens, none of your hard-earned assets will be lost to the government’s department of unclaimed property when something happens to you.

Here is the most important part for you to know about this: you will be making informed, educated, empowered decisions for the people you love, not just shopping around based on price.

You Choose Your Planning Level

We will review our three planning levels with you, and you will choose your own fee based on your budget and the planning options that are most important to you and your family.

The awesome thing about the preparation is that you will be more organized than you have ever been before because you will create a full inventory of your assets and ensure your family knows exactly what you have and where it is located.

We offer a complete zeroing out of the PoM Planning Session fee in that case because your commitment to the preparation before the meeting saves me time, which saves you money.

When we meet for your PoM Planning Session, we will review our three planning levels with you, and you will choose your own fee based on your budget and the planning options that are most important to you and your family.
